Arcadia

The ancient greeks used Arcadia as a far away, idyllic place. Like Utopia.

The french colonised Canada first in the 1600s. They called the land Acadia. The Bristish and French then fought a war in the 1750s over who owned Canada. The British won, and a lot of the French settlers decided to move (Were thrown out) to other French bits of North America, mainly Louisana around the mouth of the Mississippi where New Orleans still is today.

The Acadians gradually became known as the Cadians, and then Cajuns. And thats why the culture from that part of the world is known as Cajun. Its a corruption of Arcadian.

Just hope they remembered to plug a Fuller sound box first.

  • There is something appealing and nostalgic about the crap games. I think for me it harks back to the early days, before the more polished games came out. Some of those early Vic and ZX80 games were very basic, but it was all down to a matter of perspective. I never really played anything other than pong and space invaders. So having letters running around the screen in some sort of game seem amazing.

Yeah, I recently bought loads of speccy games, and almost all of them are pre 1985. Mostly 82, 83 and a couple of 84s. My era. I especially wanted the Atarisoft games back in the day but never got any so just bought Galaxians, it's not perfect but it's just like having the arcade machine in your home back in the day, roll on ms pacman.
also space raiders is another early classic conversion I recently bought and always loved
