  • Oh jeez I heard a while back the servers for GTAV were gonna go down on PS3 soon, and I was bored with all the PS4 stuff I was doing, so today I dusted off the PS3 and logged onto GTAV....My oh my what a mess. There's people I'm shooting are suffering no damage at all, the game crashes out randomly.

It's kind of funny, but it's like no mans land :))

The basic mechanics still work, and the missions are still flying thick, and fast, but the PS3 version hasn't been updated gameplay wise for at least 2 years :))

    It's broken :))

….and I can't remember how to play it at all, I got f*cking murdered by a level 25 player earlier, because I was literally struggling to remember how to aim :))

    Should've gone to Specsavers :p

    I did once, in about 2005 ;)

  • Since I have the PS3 out at the minute, I decided I'd finally give Shadows of the Damned a quick whirl, it's alright, but the aiming is a bit screwy. You get an obvious headshot, and nothing happens sometimes, it annoys me a bit. Plus I keep drinking my booze by accident and wasting it. I've gotten so used to aiming with R2 on PS4 games that I keep pressing that instead of R1....

But I'm turning it off now, and putting something else on, there's only so much Suda 51 I can handle in one day :))

Playing ESO at the minute, but it's a mess right now they have an event going on involving the Thieves Guild, and Dark Brotherhood, and the 2 regions those things are in are glitching, and lagging, and crashing really badly today :))

So I'm probably not going to play it much more today, as it's starting to annoy me a bit.

  • I decided to get Forza Horizon 4.. Great fun hooning around like a hooligan :D

Only issue I have is that it seems to freeze and go back to the desktop every 30 mins or so.. Probably a video driver issue, will update later once I get home :D

  • Finished Yakuza Kiwami. What a mint game - definitely going to be trying out the others. Had ten times the fun with it than the bore-a-thon that was RDR2. So fed up with that I flogged it.

Gone back to Switch Dark Souls - hardly touched it since buying it but I've been sucked back in again...

Really just killing time with things until Sekiro is released on the 22nd.
  • Heh another converted to the Yakuza series ;)

Speaking of which I still have no idea why I pre-ordered Yakuza kiwami 2, I was super excited for it, but haven't played it at all, it's still sitting on the shelf, possibly still in the plastic :))

Of course by the time it showed up I still had to finish Yakuza 6 off I think, and now I'm working my way through Fist of the North Star, which is basically Yakuza, but with Fist of the North Star characters. It's good but the combat is a lot harder to grasp, the counters are really difficult to pull off, and half the time it feels like you did some spectacular move by luck rather than skill, although it's still a good game, and quite fun, but after the time I've been playing it, and as much of a fan of Fist of the North Star as I am...….I think I prefer Yakuza in the long run.

Be nice if the Yakuza Team do a sequel to Fist of the North Star though, and I shouldn't complain, like I said with the exception of the Japanese PS1 Fist of the North Star game I literally waited almost 25 years for a decent Fist of the North Star game. Now that I've had it for a few months all I can do is bitch about it :))

  • I've been playing New Super Mario Bros U with my daughter. It's harder with 2 players as you keep getting in each others way and nudging them into enemies.

I've also been playing Broken Sword 2 which started off well but has deteriorated into illogical puzzles.
  • Heh another converted to the Yakuza series ;)

Funny thing is boozey I only started playing it to play the arcade games (eventually finding out my mistake of thinking it was like Shenmue and had Space Harrier, Out Run, etc rather than the shitty ones it does have) but just falling in love with it really quickly. It's a cracking game and one of the few genuinely pleasant gaming surprises of recent years. Loved how the Rush mode is your go to for so long but towards the end you barely even use it. Nice bit of balancing and they had to make the fighting fun as there's a LOT of it!
  • The latest info I've managed to find on Sekiro. Guess I can be kissing goodbye to 6 months of my life when it's released on the 22nd - looks amazing!

I'm literally not going to watch another Sekiro video, because then I'll want it (Although I already do quite a bit) :))

Looks like From were like "Hmmmmm Team Ninja's Nioh was quite good, and they ripped off our gameplay style, let's beat them at their own game, and show them how we'd actually do it!" :))

Probably gonna buy it though, it looks special, From's game design, Feudal Japan, swords, ninjas, samurai, demons, Boozy was sold a long time ago ;)

Other than the name, Nioh, has been completely off my radar. Just looked at some footage and... I quite like the look of it! It's got to be better than that Lords of the Fallen which desperately tried to be Dark Souls but failed miserably other than the impressive graphics. Tempted to order it now but knowing my luck it'll appear as a PSN freebie next month :-)

  • I got that Lords of the Fallen in a PSN sale during the holidays at the end of last year for something ludicrous like $1.99. Still haven't played it, but for that price even if it's arse, it's no worse than buying a duff Mastertronic title back in the 80's :))

  • God of War on the PS4. What an absolutely fantastic game! Worth all the hype and the upgrade to the PS4 from the Xbox 360. Easily the best game I've played on the PS4 so far and undoubtedly one of the best I've ever played.
  • Boozey: I picked up Nioh last Friday (was only £15). It's like Dark Souls for the levelling up and item management and Bloodborne and (a bit of) Devil May Cry for the combat. Gotta say I really like it. It's quick, the combat's good and it's pretty much pick-up-and-play. Definitely recommended as I know you like BB and DMC.

Gotta complete it quick though - did a rarity and pre-ordered Sekiro for Friday.

    Haha! I'm playing Raging Justice!

I got it for about $8, and it's actually pretty awesome.

Remember Midway's shitty games from the early 90's with the digi graphics? Pitfighter, and the absolutely terrible Guardians of the Hood? :))

Well this game is what Guardians of the Hood may have been like if it was actually good, it's a damn good laugh, but it's also completely ridiculous :))

  • I've finally finished Red Dead 2. Contrary to the negative comments here, I've gotta say I thought it was excellent. Sure, it was slow at times, and I will admit that I had to take a break from it for a little while (so much "A/X" button spamming!), but on the whole it's a phenomenal game and one of my favourites so far this console generation. Up there with The Witcher 3, in my opinion. Around 130 hours spent on it in total. Probably the most time I've spent on a single playthrough of a Rockstar game since San Andreas.

Currently playing through Spider-Man and the remastered Uncharted games. Thought I'd recap on the series before diving into Uncharted 4, which I'm itching to play.

Also bought a PSVR set quite cheap recently, so I've been faffing about with that too. Wipeout (Omega Collection) is insane in VR! :D

  • Someone on Facebook offered a free key for Assassins Creed: Origins which I managed to snaffle. Might have a play later although I never really got on with the earlier ones.
Does anyone have any info about things I should watch out for? :)

Great game! I'd dismissed it as a TR clone earlier but I have to say, it's far better. Currently playing Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. More of the same, but that's not a bad thing.

Yup, Uncharted 4 is one of the best games on PS4 - it's even better than Uncharted 2 which is saying something as that wasn't far off a masterpiece on PS3. Graphically it's astonishing and the entire storyline/characters have a nice wrap-up.

Received my copy of Sekiro this morning and managed to have half-an-hour with it. Looks like From Software have done it again. Combat is really satisfying; there's a hefty weight to the parry/strikes and it's a much faster pace than SoulsBorne. Levels are more sand-boxy too and it feels quite strange to have a From character jumping around. Not even got to the grapple yet but that's coming as something needs to happen to the character first.

Slightly envious, as I almost pre-ordered Sekiro, but I have so much stuff to get through gaming wise I thought better of it. I will be buying it sometime soon though, I can't not buy it, it looks too f*cking good! :))

  • I've put a few hours into it now Boozey and it's good. Really, really good. But it is insanely **** hard. If anyone's struggled with the SoulsBorne games then they're in for a rude awakening as to how hard games can be!

At least in the SB games you could bugger off to another area, farm and level up a bit before attempting again. That's gone here. There's an upgrade path that everyone has to follow and you'll only be allowed to upgrade when the game is good and ready.

The first mini-boss is an absolute beast. Got slaughtered by him many, many times and I'm convinced it was a fluke when I finally defeated him. You have to be very aggressive in this game.
  • Soon my Atari STe as I just brought an adapter so I ran run it on my US TV.
