Emulation and XKCD

I loved my 48K Spectrum. No surprise there. Like a car or favourite armchair, it came to have its own personality. The way the keys clicked, the way the edges were scratched. Even its highpitched buzz was enough to mark it out from my friends versions of the same model.

So when I first came across PC emulation, I wondered what the Spectrum would feel like being unknowingly stuck in an emulator. It wouldn't know that it was being run super fast, or that there was also several other spectrums also being run on the same machine. Sort of like The Matrix, but that didn't come along until 99.

Anyways, theres an XKCD comic up about it today.
