I'm kind of interested though - what does Ælita eat? A salad maybe? Fish? Pure veggie? Rare beef?
I would have thought between the sickening whiteness, Pizza, Sloppy Chinese, Chicken, Pasta, Sausage & Chips and insects there would be something to whet the appetite?
Me - I'll eat almost anything that's not gonna kill me once it's not loaded with Coriander leaf or Mushrooms.

Heh. Yes, I am a veggie..but not cause I am against it or any such like. I just can't stand the smell and texture. I can eat some whitefish, very rarely To be honest, when I am on my own, I am a complete peasant with food. I like it nice and simple. If its not got boiled potatoes..I don't call it a meal. I don't like junk food..and hardly eat chips, except for chip shop stuff once a month. I have had 1 bag of crisps in last two years. Really, it depends if I am on my fitness cycle or just more relaxed. On the whole its simple potatoes and veg and beans. The exception is that every month I make a large batch of tunnbröd..which is a northern swedish flat bread of which I bake a special Jamlandic version. The other exception is that every Friday without fail is pizza friday and I have a Pizza Funghi..almost become a religion. If I dont get it..I am not a happy bunny. I've had very posh grub more than once...but I dont like it..fiddly foreign muck. I dont give with this munching food 50 times and ettiqeetty, I love raw mushroom and on the whole prefer raw veg. As a barbarian type..I eat as I please. Of course..when I am not on my own..I pull out all the stops and attempt haute cuisine..very badly. All seems rather a waste of time. Potatoes..BIG lumps of meat, tons of salt and hey presto. Thats all the secret is..fancy names and tons of salt.
I stole it off a space ship.
  • Potatoes, meat, and lots of salt... You're after my heart, all that sounds nom! Now, where's the English Mustard ;) lol
    So far, so meh :)

Nothing wrong with a simple diet. That tunnbröd sounds awesome.
We used to have an office in Stockholm - was always impressed with the food over there(not the pickled herrings for brekkie though)

The munching 50 times thing isn't etiquette - the main part of digestion is the mastication.
2 reasons - firstly it's to allow the acid bath(stomach) to effectively kill any nasties in the food. Secondly it helps better passage and absorption through your intestines.

Ahem. Can it fluffy or I'll be serving up your meat and two veg very soon...with Irish mustard.

I chew maybe twice and swallow. I can't get within 50 feet of Surströmming. Big lumps of meat..GREAT big lumps of meat...with an Elk head sitting outside the kitchen window looking at you eating it.

The mustard would go well with your squirrel on a stick or tomatos on razorgran bread :))

  • What zx1? Colmans mustard spread thickly on a ham sarnie or pork pie is the BEST! With beer to wash away the burn, it should bring tears to your eyes, best hangover cure I know.
  • My first saucer post in ages. Chicken Katsu Burgers.

  • Had this for breakfast, 2 fried eggs with streaky bacon and some buttered bread for the yolk and no, the bacon is not burnt it's supposed to be like that cos it's streaky lol

  • Slight understandable error on your part. FYI that effect isn't referred to as 'streaky but 'carbonized'

    GRIN
  • Should not have cut the bread, then put an egg on, then bacon, then the other egg in a sandwich, take a big bite and watch the yolk fly everywhere :) That's the best part :D

  • Missing the days when going to a restaurant was such a simple and usual thing, I want to post this from january: an excellent dessert, a 4-people super-brownie (I don't remember its exact name).

It was delicious, as you can imagine! =P~
  • My work has closed for the foreseeable now but the missus is a key worker so i’m very much a house husband now!

A couple of saucers we’ve had in the last few days (my sister got me a subscription to Good Food magazine which is coming in very handy!):

Pork Souvlaki with homemade flat breads

img]Chicken Pesto Pizza (base from scratch too)
