I'm actually getting kind of depressed with my work situation, I'm getting snowed under at work, they've hired a sh*tload of temps who I know are all on way more money than me, and literally suck at the job because they're meth head, and crackhead f*cks who have literally no care for their wellbeing so long as they're getting paid, only 2 of them have been wearing masks, even though it's supposedly company wide policy now, good show there corporate office, good f*cking show indeed! What actually needs to be getting done is getting done on a basic level, but these complete spackers lack of any regard for anything beyond autopilot is creating hours, and hours more work for me behind the scenes.
I've tried reeling them in, I've tried telling them what to do, and all I get is "I'll have to call my agency to make sure I can do that".....Seriously, you have to call your agency to make sure you can walk into the coldstore in back and place a box on top of a f*cking cart that has boxes on it? Get out of my f*cking workplace you f*cking scummy mother*cking toothless freeloaders.....All the while my bosses are bitching me out for sh*t not getting done that I could do better alone than without the so called "help" they're giving me! Why did they take away the 2 or 3 people from me who know what they're doing, and replace them with temps I have to constantly watch, and micro-manage, I can't f*cking deal with this s*t anymore....It's driving me f*cking mental!!!
….and the whole time customers saying things like "Thank you for you hard work", and things like "I Appreciate you guys", and "Thank you so much for keeping the shelves stocked"....It's p*ssing me off as well! Funny I don't recall a single compliment like that at all in the whole f*cking 12 years I've worked at my place before this sh*t happened? Hey I do this sh*t "EVERY" DAY, AND I MEAN EVERY DAY, NOT JUST DAYS WHEN THE WORLD IS COLLAPSSING IN ON ITSELF!!!!!....
So yeah it's good to know my hard f*cking work is only relevant when my life is at risk, go home to your f*cking mansion, drink 2 bottles of wine, polish your 8 giant gold rings, and hit your 6 kids while your husband f*cks his secretary at the hospital office block....f*cking c*nts!!!
What's really baking my head is though that the 2 potential amazing career swerves that were served up to me practically on a plate late last year can't happen now because of closures, and social distancing, both places are closed and I have no idea if they are even gonna survive. like most grocery types in the USA I'm held prisoner by although having a sh*t f*cking job I hate with every atom of my f*cking soul the health insurance is really, really good, and obviously at a time like this being a 41 year old smoker it could potentially be suicide to turn my back on such a thing....but really I have no idea how much more I can take? I'm going mental here, and I think I was long before this f*cking virus took a grip, but it looks like I have no real way out now......Don't know how much more I can take :(:(:(
Can you not talk to your superiors and be honest and tell them you are having job with the new recruits. I know you probably want to make it look like you are coping and nothing is wrong, the best way to approach this is to ask for their input in the best way to deal with these personalities, in doing so make come across that you value their experience whilst coming across strong and decisive. I think they will appreciate 1) that you value their experience , 2) You look up to them (even if you don't really), and 3) that you care about the overall performance of the team. If none of this works, bide your time and jump ship.

Hi, you are probably correct if you find that temps from some other company don't listen to you or to your boss. Because they don't work for you; they work for the temp company and listen to their bosses instead! In the USA the lines are more hierarchial, so what I usually did is to ask my boss to to talk to their boss, to make sure that these temps listen to you. So ask your boss to talk to their boss, in very sublte phrasing of course. There's really no point to (micro)managing them if they don't care about your boss' company, or you.

I had a potential amazing career swerve this year too. That place still exist but the workplace is basically one giant room with many many people together in a small space. Well, in this corona era, I'd never choose to work in a giant hall again, at least not without protection.
Being very accurate isn't good enough if you want to use testing to end lockdowns and get the country back to business as usual. It needs to be infallible.
LOL - very accurate isn't good enough.......I assume you're working on developing a better test then? Good luck with that. :)
You need to be realistic. PCR is the best we have - no such thing as infallible unfortunately. No magic bullets to end the lockdown.
Get the Country back to business? - it's a bit bigger than any single Country.
It's a tough one - who would have imagined it getting like this? especially compared to other similarish events in our lifetimes that didn't have this kind of impact in the end.
My prediction - lockdowns get relaxed and then loads of people get sick again. I'm a cheery f*cka at present....
Balls to disagreements anyway - not like we can help much...........hope ya'll good and not getting cabin fever :)

Both Iceland and Austria are doing voluntary screening and getting useful information.
Well now. Iceland got bigger problems...and so might we. Iceland been put on high level preparedness. The volcano close to Reykjavik has produced some 8000 tremors in recent weeks. This Volcano last blew up 1000 years ago and hasn't been active to any great extent in 300 years. Now the ground has swelled up 15cm to 20cm in places. ..and scientists are quite worried. This is the big one..if it pops..goodbye Iceland and goodbye us to an extent.
I wish I was tested so I can go up for a dip in the Blue Lagoon in Grindavik, one last time..but ..so this lack of testing in UK is a REAL Pain in the posterior. Other countries will be able to micro manage people back into the economy due to their testing programs....but not UK. Right at the start I said 'pee up in brewary'

:-D
Interesting that about the Icelandic volcano - thanks for the heads up, or should that be heads down warning. Hmmmm, wasn't there a big erruption how long ago - maybe ten years ago of an icelandic volcano - one with a very very long name - that I can pronounce perfectly ;-). You reckon if this goes off, we all got problems? - at least there isn't much air traffic. But some people won't know whether to panic buy bog roll, or panic buy windscreen wiper fluid. Still might get the news onto a different topic than this bloomin coronavirus - its like a broken record - Sky News keep showing footage filmed in a hospital over two weeks ago.
Found it - was called Eyjafjallajökull in 2010 - and that was just what the locals called it - and it was considered a small eruption, went off about three months after they started noticing seismic activity- caused a lot of disruption of air traffic for a week or two.
Good to see you are keeping your finger on the pulse Aelita, and not be distracted by this coronavirus.

Yes..this is the Rekjanes system. This isn't a bit of stuff that blocks air travels.. this is more Laki 1783. Anyhoo..
My OH is Icelandic....and I try to learn me some Icelandic but I need a lie down in a dark room after 10 mins of lessons lol.

I am realistic...
Testing is only useful to the epidemiologists modelling the outbreak, crunching the numbers and advising governments. To the individual, knowing whether you've got it, had it, or neither has very little bearing on anything.
It's all irrelevant anyway since we don't have enough tests or labs to process them anyway.

Hopefully for the Icelanders it won't explode or maybe just a fissure will open and spew a bit let off a bit of pressure for now. But I don't know a lot about volcanos in all honesty.
Another important point is that even for those who have recovered, there is no guarantee that immunity will last. With some other coronaviruses, immunity only lasts a few months which could mean that if it's still floating around next year, people who already had it might not be able to fight it anymore without producing new antibodies, so could become ill again.
Also, the longer the virus remains in the human population, the greater the chance it could mutate into a different (but just as infectious + deadly) type of human coronavirus. Which would put everyone who had immunity (or a vaccine) against Covid-19 vulnerable again. :-O
They'll soon figure out how long immunity lasts on average. .
It is a fact of life, there have been worse viruses and flus and plagues in history and at times when there was little science or testing, or medications.
Lockdowns have to end sometime - and sooner the better - or it will be worse for us than a virus. As social distancing will no doubt continue for a bit the spread will still be disrupted and slowed.
Was in Tesco earlier and it looks like food stocks are just about back to normal. All those idiot panic buyers now have all this stuff they didn't need to buy! :))

Yup! a 10 year supply of sh*trag, a 5 year supply of Kitchen Rolls, enough soap to wash the Titanic end to end and deck from deck by hand, 10,000 bottles of water, 18 loaves of green bread, 40 gallons of lumpy milk, and 40,000 rotten eggs :))

Had quite a few people out clapping and banging pots. Had people tooting their car horns and even heard fireworks. I couldn't join in as i was eating my dinner :))
So while all along I thought the world and the media have been putting to much faith in China's version of events. It seems there is a theory that the Corona Virus escaped from a partly US funded Wuhan lab (Wuhan Institute of Virology ) that was studying the corona virus in bats. Diplomatic cables suggest US scientists had concerns about the security of the lab with respect to its adherence to the Bio Safety Level (BSL) standards appropriate for the work carried out there.
If true, it could explain why China were trying to suppress one doctor's early warnings about the virus. It might (very might though) add credence to my assertion that the virus was spreading much earlier than is popularly believed. This would account for the unusually high number of unusually potent seasonal pneumonias globally this winter that medical professionals are anecdotally reporting. This is what I believe me and my colleagues caught at an event this winter which seemed like an usually powerful and drawn-out two stage flu and dry chesty cough that you just could not seem to shake (9 weeks from first symptoms in early December until the last in late January).
As much as many here would not like to admit, Donald Trump and his advisors have been recognizing the WHO's bias towards China and using this as an excuse to withhold funding. It may seem far fetched, but was someone paid to toe the line, as right wing US media is hinting. It does explain the whole anti Taiwan stance of WHO.
You forgot to charm for guile and rickets, to charm it hence and away as well as charming in the south, east, north, and west though . But still, thanks for charming! ;)
