Oh, I know where he is and what he's doing, I just wanted to know if he'd ever, anywhere, admitted his guilt in trying to claim the work of others as his own. Some of these are just shockingly obvious, so I'm curious if he's ever fessed up and said he was just trolling, or trying for an ego boost or whatever his reasons were, and that he's sorry it ever happened. So far all I've seen is claims that its not his fault, never really answering anything directly and being evasive. If he's come clean, fair enough, but otherwise I don't know that I want to associate with someone who behaves in that manner.

A minor 'update' on this topic, from the thread here:

I have admitted on numerous occasions that that I told a few fibs in the past and yet you still bring up how I havn't. I made my peace with Sard and even got a nice PM from him. I never claimed to write Steve Davis Snooker, I claimed to have written a hack for 128k machines but don't let that confuse the issue. Its also not all one sided as a moderator on AA went and edited my own posts to make me look bad and then banned me. This is why the entire Jaguar Sector II forum backed me up because they knew exactly what had been done. Especially after that site got hacked by idiots with nothing better to do. The biggest thing was always about some BASIC games that I actually offered to send people (nobody took me up) and I even uploaded a video to my You Tube, posted code and screenshots. Yet I still didn't write them apparently according to a select few.

Lets just say this one more time in the vein hope you *might* actually let this unbelievably personal grudge go and help make this rather angry forum a better place to be.

Yes I told a few lies in the past, so have many other people, did I admit this? Yes again and again. Have I apologised for it? Yes again and again. Can you let it go this time? We will see.

I don't really need this crap with all my health problems right now and I am just about to leave to go into hospital so I will say I am sorry and I apologise just one more time.

So, it does seem like he has some regret regarding the matter. Its still somewhat evasive, rather forgetting all the other claims made (since PSJ only addressed the one game directly) and ends with the routine 'health problems' get out clause, so make of it what you will. Nowhere else has turned up any of the other alleged 'many' admissions or apologies so far either. At least he acknowleged it I guess.

Oh dear .. this thread again.. eeek !!
Yes I saw that post ages ago and was somewhat puzzled about the "nice PM" I'm supposed to have sent him, bearing in mind he actually had me blocked on AA. But oh well..
Pretty much all of what he is saying there is a combination of total distortion, outright fibs and irrelevant nonsense, that I really don't have the energy or inclination to go into.
And you are right. No other admissions or apologies exist unless (as I said to PSJ at the time) he posted them on the "Lonely Single Penguins of Antarctica Forum" or suchlike..

Look, I've met him repeatedly at the Retro Carnival in Aldershot and I get the impression he's a bit embarrassed about something he thought was a laugh at the time on-line and doesn't seem so funny when you actually meet up with people, and so would rather not discuss it any further. He's certainly not going around still boasting about it, and he's even been noted to develop a slight sense of humour about it after some imbibement of the falling-down water, but that may just be my mis-interpretation due to parallel consumption of similar. Paired with a lack of curry.

Personally I think that position is understandable and easily forgivable, and if people still want to dredge it up to seriously have a go at him after all this time then those people are showing a bit of a sad and vindictive side that they should probably learn to rein-in a bit.

In fact, I think it's high time this thread ended.

Actually I think you are being a touch unfair there Joe. Surprised as I was to see this thread re-bumped, I don't see an issue with someone asking if there was ever any resolution to any of it. I certainly don't see anyone being "sad and vindictive" as you put it.
As for myself, bearing in mind that I am mentioned in the quoted "admission", you'll have to forgive me for reserving the right to give my own (somewhat brief) observation on it. Personally I think anyone is free do the same. This is a forum afterall.

I'm sure you are right though. I can easily imagine in real life he is a perfectly ok guy. In truth I hope he does well with his journalistic pursuits. Indeed perhaps classifying this as water under the bridge is for the best :)
  • Gotta love the old threads...

  • Probably my all-time favourite WoS thread. Can hardly believe it's twelve years ago now and we still remember him. There's nothing quite as amusing as seeing an internet-bullsh**er get burned.

  • I have as many spare copies of SDS on 128 as I do Scrabble, unless I miscounted somehow, I can't stop thinking about potato's.

  • This makes interesting reading, again, after the very recent publicity. Hawken/Kizza/RetroLaird et al has a habit of continually lying to everyone, and taking credit for others work.

No admission or contrition, his sock accounts defending him, then blaming his deliberate actions on his illness.

Sorry to invade your forum here but I was contacted earlier today by one of your posters here about my game Quiz Master (Atari ST Public Domain). I hadn't realised how many people's games 'Kizza' was trying to take credit for. It's been annoying me for a while that his name appears on my game on the LGD website.

Wow, this keeps getting better and better...
Not as good as it's getting now Martijn...

No he's not. He was binned by RG over a year ago after his poor research, writing and Atari bias was repeatedly called out. Who knows what else went on behind the scenes.

It's certainly nice to see the gamestage website still exists yet it has absolutely no content =D>
(I'm mentioning gamestage because somewhere in this super old discussion on the AtariAge forum that name was dropped so I had a look).

Yep, it's very entertaining in place, also very sad when you realise what's going on inside Keiren's head.
