Quake-Con at home is running right now that’s probably why. Confused me a bit when I heard about it a few days back. I was like eh? Is Quake still a thing?
Speaking of that I noticed a while back on PSN that they had Doom 64 on sale for $2.99. I almost bought it, but stopped myself. Thought it was weird to see what was previously a Nintendo exclusive on the PlayStation Store though.
I would’ve liked it tbh, but it’d probably just end up wasting drive space much like the Duke Nukem 25th anniversary bundle, which I’ve literally played once. My nephew has played it more than me actually :))
The first Quake game is free through the Bethesda Launcher.
Now it's Quake II's turn to be free on Bethesda's Launcher.
Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

Hot Pursuit was great and so was Most Wanted which is basically Burnout Paradise 2. Both Criterion developed so they were always destined to be very good.
I've heard good things about Vampyr, but it's going to added to the pile of PS+ stuff I'll never get around to playing.
There's a Sega 60th Anniversary Sale on Steam at the moment. Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami for just over a tenner all-in is a bargain. You can get Sonic 2 for free as well.
Vampyr is actually pretty good, definitely worth playing for free. :D
I’m going to give that a go. Bloodborne is still to difficult for me :(
It does take certain cues from the Dark Souls/Bloodborne games, but it's definitely not as difficult as those. I've only played Demon's Souls, but even with some very handy tips from Vampyre (WoS user, not the game), I found it way too difficult for me. I would like to give Bloodborne a go as it looks fantastic, but my experience with that one Souls game has put me off a bit.

Bloodborne's definitely easier than Demon's Souls (which is the most difficult Souls game IMO) but you won't think so at first. Getting to the first boss can be tricky but once you've defeated him then it really opens up, you level up a bit and really start kicking ass. As you progress it's one of those games that gets strangely easier the further you get into it. Apart from a few spikes (the head-sucky things I still avoid and most of time I run past the bit where there are three Hunters in a room) it's a pretty straightforward hack and slash game. Just a hack and slash game with the best combat system ever devised.
I think it's a bit easier because the pace is set to be as attacking as possible, whereas the Souls games encourage a defensive approach. Being defensive in BB will punish you brutally so it's always best to be on the front foot (if you get hit you can recover your health a little by attacking back straight away). It's a much more approachable game than the Souls series. I've NG+++++++'d it.
Oh, and the level design is on another level. The world is absolutely magnificent. The DLC is fantastic too (you basically get another third of the game). But you'll cry for a long time against the first DLC boss.
IMO it's the best game ever made. Wish they'd release a sequel.
Well you’ve pretty much said everything I would’ve said about Bloodborne. That game is probably one of the best PS4 titles to date. It really isn’t super hard once you get to grips with the mechanics, and there’s so many possibilities for character builds that it’s probably statistically impossible to not find one that works for you. In the end when you actually die it’s usually your own fault, and it’s usually due to greed, trust me I know :))
...and yes I’d also agree that Demons Souls is brutal in comparison to Bloodborne. Demons Souls feels like it ruthlessly punishes you for being crap, but I feel more like Bloodborne rewards you for playing well.
