Aw man, post something with less bloody adverts. It loaded all the adverts first then the story. ;)
Anyway, shame really. Never liked Wham, but they are part of the 80s vibe, like em or not.

Weirdly, I've never looked up Bono online to get his real name or anything - he's such a non-entity, or his band
to me, despite being a rock fan from the 80s.
Until today. And I learnt Bono's name is Paul. So was my best mate in primary school. He could draw.

I had forgotten completely about David Ames being in that, however while being a satire about current affairs programmes, the sketch sort of backfired.
Problem was while that "cake" was a "made up drug" - some street drugs really do interfere with the user's subjective sense of time passing (making it seem to pass quicker, or slowing it down). However the part of the brain related to time perception is the supermarginal gyrus. While those targeted for the sketch, should have known from other aspects of the script they were reading (however to be fair street slang for some drugs is pretty weird), and really they were not saying "who gives a f@@k" either.
I'm pretty sure the part of the brain which deals with subjective time is called Shatner's Bassoon tbh.
I just immediately recognised him as the MP from the programme that's all.

I remember the sketch, but for some reason I had not remembered everyone in.
You are making me doubt and look up diagrams of brains, but I do think that Chris Morris either made that up, or heard it used from some other context.
And when I check - I found that there apparently are time sensitive neurons which fire in a part of the brain known as the supermarginal gyrus - its located in the parietal cortex of a brain. It is still being researched, and there are other parts of the brain involved also.
