  • Uwe Seeler. (85) Legendary Germany footballer.
I stole it off a space ship.
  • Acclaimed British comic book writer Alan Grant (73). Gutted.
  • Damn! He did a lot of stuff for 2000AD, which I used to love when I was younger :(
    Every night is curry night!
  • Yeah, the guy was a legend and wrote some brilliant stuff. He literally was 2000AD (along with John Wagner) in the early days.
    Sod it!

  • Ergh! How weird! Was thinking about Time Bandits the other day, basically for the scene where Evil says “Stand by for mind control!”, as it fits in nicely these days.

Also was watching one of those scam baiter vids yesterday, and one of the call center guys answered the phone as David Warner :O

  • He was one of those actors who was always "there". I'm a big Tron fan for my son's. He played the baddy well.

  • What a legend he was. I think I might watch The Hotel Inspectors tonight in his memory.

    RIP Bernard.
  • That's a classic episode, very funny. I liked him in the Dr Who film in the 60's with Peter Cushing and in the Railway Children. He was asked to appear in the recent sequel but declined.

  • Old Jacks boat was filmed in the village next to here, i lived there for around 6 years after moving up here. Watched an episode once, with a trolley running loose down the high street, weird knowing the layout of the village as it wasn't rolling down the street in order lol

That’s like Spender chasing the Metro He runs into the Monument station from the park in Jesmond, then from the monument station runs through West Jesmond station, then from there through Manors, and from Manors to bloody Tynemouth. Traveling with those coordinates I think Jimmy Nail should be the next bloody Doctor Who!

The only 2 of those stations that are actually linked are Monument, and Manors, you have to go about another 10 stops going from Manors to get to Tynemouth, and West Jesmond is on a completely different line.

Like that big White House that’s always in movies the one with the pillars in front of the door, and the hanging plants out front’s supposed to be in California, but it’s actually in Texas :))

Does that social club building still exist? It looked like some kind of castle.
I stopped watching it when Geoff died! :))

It should do all those old buildings, and bits of castles and the like are all listed, or protected under some kind of preservation act.

Looked it up, it became a pub called the Mitre after the show ended. It was in Benwell, Newcastle. It used to be called Benwell Towers.
Much of Byker was demolished and refurbished around the time the show was on air.
I've just read how the show ended and it's the most ridiculous ending for a tv show i've ever heard of.
