I watched one of the worst “films” I’ve ever seen the other night. I stumbled upon it purely by chance a single image in a search I did for something totally unrelated. A naked woman lying on the floor surrounded by Daleks. The only text said Abducted by the Daleks. So instead of opening it outright I copied the link and opened it up with tor just in case. Well it turns out it’s a real film that has nothing to do with Doctor Who…

It gets worse turns out the BBC actually shut this movie down for obvious legal reasons, and it’s really hard to find so a bit of digging around turns up an alternate title for it Aducted by the Daloids, an obvious attempt to skirt the BBC’s wrath.

A bit more digging around and I find a really janky Russian streaming site that just so happens to have it on there. So I watched it….Oh jeez I don’t know if I was watching a heavily censored porno or if the movie was just supposed to an exploitation movie, or if it’s some kind of fetish movie, and I’m just missing the point? It was dubbed into English, and seemed to revolve around the Daleks abducting girls from the woods, girls who just happened to take all their clothes off minutes before getting abducted :))

It was categorized as horror, but only 1 person gets killed unless you count an alien who for some reason the Daleks rescue the last girl from. It wasn’t filthy enough to be porn, and there wasn’t actually any shagging in it, but some of the scenes in it were too explicit for a regular movie. Then I realised it was made by the same people who made the Fantom Kiler films, and it all fell into place.

If you’ve ever seen any of the Fantom Kiler films you know exactly what to expect. As those are basically low grade torture porn with a Z grade Darkman rip-off stabbing naked women, and those movies do cross the line into having some hardcore scenes. I don’t recommend them to anyone! I watched those films years ago, they’re really bad. Although there is quite a funny bit in one of them where a cleaning lady challenges a decorator to pull a wooden spoon out of her arse, so she can have the rest of the day off work…Yup that’s what we’re dealing with here. Made in Germany of course! But I bet they still wouldn’t play them on RTL late at night, although no maybe they would? :))

RTL has become much more "family-friendly" nowadays, the days of them showing dodgy stuff at very late hours are long past.

I briefly skipped through that Dalek movie on some movie site, a pretty poor effort but are you sure it's made in Germany? The names of the actors and other people in the credits certainly don't hint at it ...

Edit: LOL, apart from all the terrible acting, dialogue and special effects ... I went through it again skipping forwards the whole time and just came across this scene at the end where one of the women is sitting in an office talking to some kind of police guy. For some reason there's one of those blue police beacon lights on the table, and it is turned on and rotating, wtf? :))
I also love how he couldn't even be arsed to give that poor girl a blanket ...

I’m assuming from the looks of them all the women are Czech, or possibly Romanian, and the info on the film could be completely wrong? But I remember all the Fantom Kiler movies apparently were made in Germany, and this is definitely made by the same people, so I don’t really know to be honest?

    The trouble with tribbles is.......
  • Apparently Roman Nowicki, the director of those films, is Polish, and the girls in that Dalek film also didn't sound very German. But since Poland and Germany share a border and plenty of Polish people live here, I can't rule out it may have been filmed in Germany. Nevertheless, the films by this guy are super obscure. I have never heard of them before your posts. I guess after losing two wars, the next "best" or worst thing we could give to the world was a lot of terrible movies (especially in the triple X department) ... as we're not exactly known for a lot of blockbusters that made a huge impact.
  • Well from what I’ve seen of this guys work he could be the Polish Jess Frank (Jesus Franco).

Not gonna lie I actually quite liked the first rampage film…I only say that because I haven’t seen the others.

I feel like Uwe Boll could actually make OK original movies, but he keeps going for ones based on video games…He must be some kind of masochist, because by doing that he’s setting himself up for failure every time :))

I remember in the mid 90's when i came home from the pub on a Friday night RTL used to show sex comedies usually after 11pm. Most were silly. I also remember a channel that me and my brother used to call 'the beach ball channel' as the logo resembled that would show a car driving round Germany. We found it quite interesting. I remember seeing Frankfurt. This was i guess after the channel had closed for the night. There was also a train one and a boat one but they were boring.
I remember RTL showed the A Team late at night in German. It was funny hearing the dubbed voices.

The Beach Ball channel is called SAT.1 ... not sure about the car driving through Germany being on SAT.1 though. I think what you may have seen was called Straßenfeger (click for a video) which ran on ZDF which was the 2nd TV station and came up around midnight I think? It showed the view out of a driving car while the sound was supplied by a radio station, so either talk/news or music.

On the 1st TV station (ARD) they had the train thing which was called "Die schönsten Bahnstrecken Deutschlands" (= the nicest train tracks/rides of Germany, even though not all were necessarily scenic) and usually came up way after midnight. Yeah, it was a bit boring but I found it relaxing to watch them. Here is one example on Youtube.

By far the best though was Space Night. I think I've mentioned it here before, for me this is one of the absolutely best things ever on any TV station and an ingenious way of filling up the night slots. It ran from about midnight until 6 am and showed pictures/moving images of space or Earth (like taken from the ISS) accompanied by great music, mostly Trance/Ambient but some episodes also had different genres and themes, like the Moon landings. Whenever I get **** off by neighbour sound/noises I put on headphones, run an episode of Space Night as I have saved them all to my hard drive, and just zone out ... to something from this playlist.

Before Space Night began there was always one epsiode of "The Joy of Painting" with Bob Ross, maybe to lull you into the perfect relaxed state to enjoy Space Night. After one show of Space Night was over, there would be a short 15 minute programme showing a scientist who explained things related to space/astronomy in layman's terms, hard to describe but it was extremely entertaining (they made around 200 epsiodes of that!). After that, the Space Night epsiode that ran before was shown again, repeat until 6 am.

  • Yeah maybe my memory is a bit mixed up. I do remember a radio station playing as the guy drove around Germany so maybe it was ZDF. My Dad had got a chipped card for our Sky box and we got tons of foreign channels but not the adult ones, he saw to that! :))

I was thinking his singing sounds good compared to his speaking, thought on the album it might be autotune or whatever, but live?

Watching Raiders of the Lost Ark. Yes, I know. Still better than just about everything. Nazi guy just got chopped up with the propeller! Gonna watch it real close this time to see how he gets to the sub base exactly.

Ozzy might mumble when he talks but sing well because you do both with 2 different parts of the brain apparently. That’s why sometimes someone who’s had a brain injury or stroke may experience difficulties with regular speech, but can still sing a song perfectly.

Also the big Nazi guy in Indiana Jones is played by Pat Roach the fella who played Bomber in Auf Weidersehen Pet. He also plays the big Indian bloke who gets squashed in Temple of Doom.

  • Speaking of Temple of Doom, it really freaked me out as a nipper when Indy went bad from when the Thuggees made him drink blood. Then when Short Round burnt him and he winked and said ‘I’m ok, kid’ and kicked their ass it was amazing.

    That’s cinema. Cue music…
