    move the joystick when in BASIC. If it gives you 5,6,7,8 and 0 then it's a cursor joystick. 1,2,3,4 and 5, or 6,7,8,9 and 0 it's a Sinclair joystick.

    Kempstons won't do anything, but I don't know about the others.
