If it was me I wouldnt, but, have you a multimeter to test it? Ive just tested my grey +2 psu and I get 11.85v without load, obviously that comes down to just over 9v under load. I would want to test it first. -

I'd second the idea to add a switch to the PSU mains lead - you won't need to mod the machine, and since the +2 PSU can be used on all machines back go the original Spectrum 48k, you'll get the benefits on those machines too :) -

Yes, a grey +2 PSU (rated at 2.1A) will happily power a toastrack (whose power supply is rated at 1.85A).
