  • More CurrahAnyone used the Currah Microspeech interface on a 128K (or +2) Spectrum model?

Very interesting, becuase I just tried one on my 128K a couple of days ago, and the machine started up with mumbo-jumbo colours. I thought it might be a duff interface, but after what you say, it may be a compatibility problem with 128K machines.

I've just noticed they say and the FAQ says the +2A was made in Hong Kong and the +2B was made in Taiwan. Isn't it the opposite? The baud rate of the spectrum is 1500 not 1200. There's some interesting talk on faulty ram chips and holding back the 128.

I think you're right there. My +2B was certainly made in China. The tape I/O is listed as 1200 baud in some places and 1500 in others. I'm not sure which is true... And that RAM chips thing was certainly weird - very inventive, our Sir Clive!

I was wondering what sound chip you have in a +2b. I have seen Gi, Microchip and Yamaha in +2as.
