    ... it has a 78S05 (2Amp) regulator.
    Both of my QL ... sources) have MC7805CT regulator which is a 1Amp regulator. Weird isn't ... end up with an 1Amp regulator.

    Sorted it, had a good squint at the schematics, then read up on the regulator, soldered and in, nice!

    As you've sorted it, I would guess brown = unregulated in / black = ov / red = stabilized 5v out.

    Assuming a 7805 (7x05 series) :) , left = in / middle = ground / right = out , I think

    I'm sure I read somewhere that there's another voltage regulator you can get that doesn't require a heatsink, sure it was here somewhere. (Ive drank since so it could be anywhere really!)
