You could also use HURG or Platform Game Designer. The latter is fairly slick, although games made with it still tend to have some of a "sausage machine" feel. -

All of Cauldwell's games are hard, though I haven't played Mr Fruity yet!
I'd say that his best game so far has to be Game X because it's unique :) And Platform Game Designer is good too. -

I think Stop The Express was a quite an advanced game and programmed really well, I can't get technical about it (although I'd enjoy it if someone more knowledgeable did), but it certainly looks great, especially for it's age too. -
