Hmmm, if the Border did not change, this means that the Amplifier of tape deck is death, or the ULA in Spectrum did not recieve any signals.

it's either the little transistor amplifier that has blown - or sometimes one of the wires on the speaker breaks - they're like hairs and get pulled off the solder connections very easily. -
