I'm sure that the microdrive emulation runs at the original speed. Hell it even makes the original microdrive noises as well.
But if you are wanting things to run faster then try cranking up the Z80 speed in the options menu. -

That would only be viable if brand new media was available. If +3, Wafa- or Microdrive versions were produced, I expect there would be a lot of returns due to faulty 2nd-hand media.
