The PC-Engine had several other processers working PURELY just to output graphics and sound. The Spectrum had it's Z80 CPU, the ULA and a Beeper. THis is where the differences lie. -

I've tested the Magnum Light Phaser games with Real Spectrum and Es.pectrum and they worked fine. Es.pectrum is the only emulator I know able to correctly emulate the light gun in some Spanish games like [I]Mike Gunner[/I] or [I]Solo[/I]. -

I agree on the 256 colour option, and wouldn't really want to emulate it myself. I have written code to emulate the +3e, and it is a real machine, though one obviously has to do the upgrade themselves. -

Steve Crow's games had the best beeper sound effects for me.
