Comparing Sinclair Basic with Pascal seems to me as comparing Ferrari to Trabant.

Just a note about goto: it disappeared not, and some people uses it still in C for instance. I spared lot of code and brackets with well targeted goto's :D

BTW, a lot of the work I did on the Amiga was writing libraries in C and assembly so that other developers could do advanced stuff from compiled Basic.
The Basic we used on the Amiga was similar to Pascal if you wanted it to be.
