I personally don't dislike color clash, even for new artwork / games.
It's a feature, much like the graphics being pixelated when see full screen on todays HD monitors, or the beeper sound.

in itself, character scrolling is okay for some games.
This game would be better with smooth scrolling and a little bit of color clash (like say, Cobra)
