    Isn't the fastest way having the sprites pre-rotated in memory before shoving them on screen as quick as possible?

    Uses loads of memory but there shouldn't be much speed difference vertically or horizontally this way?

    Batman-the movie had a great multidirectional scroll,.. dont you think..

    moreover it had a lot of sprites and the bat-rope routine (ala bioniccommando)

    Yay! Now my sprites can be multi-coloured, instead of monochrome...even though I've got used to the idea of monochrome sprites. Cheers anyway!
