What are the best shoot-em-ups for the Spectrum?I mean, besides Zynaps. That's pretty much a given.
I mostly preferred the 3D shooters:
Dark Star, Starstrike I & II, Starion, Tau Ceti, Academy, Starglider, Elite, etc. -

Dark Star on the C64 is a completely different game from a different publisher that just happens to have the same name as the Spectrum game. -

I always thought Manic Miner was the canonical test of an emulator.
If you want to probe the boundaries of emulator accuracy, Dark Star with its fancy border effects of Arkanoid which uses the floating bus behaviour are probably more rigorous. -
