Interfacing the Video memory is not a problem. It's generating all the VGA signals including timing circuits that would be nice to have a schematic to look at. -

You could use the 14MHz clock also for VGA if you're using normal CRT monitor as long as you meet the H/V timing requirements. But you would then have a slightly distorted picture. -
