Doh! Turns out the TZX does still work, and I'd just forgotten to switch the interface 1 on when retesting it (Thanks Colin for pointing that out).

IIRC, there are microdrive versions of HiSoft Devpac and OCP Art Studio. The Disciple disk interface did a pretty good job of supporting the Interface 1 hook codes and therefore it was possible to use microdrive software on disk. -

The +D Interface will not work on a +2a/+3 without the fixer board - and then again, make sure you get the right one cos I've destroyed a +D's Alice 4 chip by using a dodgy fixer board.
