    "Where time stood still" is a good example of using double buffering to reduce flicker and produce a larger scrolling area than would have been possible otherwise.

    Spectaculator [i]does[/i] make use of a 100Hz mode to perform 50Hz smooth double buffering [i]if your monitor supports it[/i]. Personally I never saw the point.
