Shoes do make a difference when learning. I had some Doc Martens and they were a nightmare to drive in. Nowadays I can drive with any sort of shoe and its no bother. Practice makes perfect. -

I believe APB is bugged. From around Day 3 onwards, the game seems to randomly freeze up completely if you drive in a certain area (it's a junction shaped a bit like a letter 'X').
