you can get some useful programs of the +3e site, for example one the MSDOS program allows you to read 720k DOS formatted disks on the +3, and MFORMAT which lets you format the 3.5" disk to a variety of different formats -

the spectrum +3 floppy drive is an amstrad 3" type, which is obsolete, however a standard 3.5" drive can be fitted as a second drive allowing you to use 720k disks, then you can copy games to the disk from the Realspectrum emulator. -
