    Does anyone know how to get long filenames to be displayed in DOS? Or more specificly long filenames to be displayed in Taper? It's a right pain trying to workout some filenames with just a few letters go go on!

    Forget it. It's not possible. DOS is an ancient dinosaur, only capable of showing 8.3 filenames. Windows 95 introduced long filenames with Joliet.

    It supports long filenames, which is what was asked and what some people said DOS couldn't possibly do.

    Yep, the ... to be the main problem. Long filenames shouldn't be an issue ... .3 AFAIK. And I plan long filename support eventually, anyway.

    I believe the bug is more to do with long filenames than a large number of files; there's an unchecked strcpy() at widget/filesel.c:167.
