    Well I could be wrong, but this seems the most likely explanation, since there is no flicker when running on Emuzwin, Realspec, Specemu, or Klive. Also it runs fine on a real 48K spectrum.

    I just checked which version of SPIN I am using and it is 0.504. Tried it with different combinations of video settings but can't get rid of the flicker. Is there something else I'm missing perhaps?

    You're not missing anything. Dunny accidently built at least the last couple of releases using the old contention/floating bus code. Believe me, your game does not flicker at all when built with the correct source :)
