I'd like to connect 3,5" PC floppy drive (NEC) to ZX ... Spectrum +3 (with diode for RDY ... /> 1) It seems the PC floppy uses just +5V, right?
worried that the floppy would take too much current.

I was wondering has anyone done this and if so how does it work ?

I want a lead to connect a 1.44 Mb floppy to a ZX Spectrum +3 (via the floppy connector in the back of the Speccy).

NOTE: When I say 1.44 Mb I mean I would need a lead with RDY and density signals "hacked" to enable any HD floppy to work.

If I connect one up, will I be able to download roms and write them to a floppy with my PC, then play them natively on my Spectrum +3? What format did the spectrum disks need to be?

I came across an old 3" floppy drive, and I got the idea of making it into an external USB drive to write +3 images onto from my PC.

Can I use the USB interface from a modern external 3,5" drive for this ?

I have just bought a 3.5 floppy drive and ribbon cable to replace the floppy on my spectrum +3. How do I put games onto the floppy drive? Can I use writetrd?

I just managed to get a Gotek floppy emulator flashed with the latest HxC firmware, but I cannot get it to work as drive "B:" on one of my +3 Spectrums. Did anyone try the same and can give some more feedback on jumper and other configuration settings?
