Yeah, I would expect the FOR-NEXT to be the faster of the two.
With any loop, it’s also faster if it is near the beginning of the program compared to the end.

My understanding was that FOR NEXT was always surprisingly slow compared to LET and GO TO. I've not done the benchmarks as suggested above but I'm standing by my position. :-) -
