I don't know for sure, but I highly suspect that Ultimate used cross-development from very beginning, because Stampers worked on arcade games before Ultimate - and these always developed like this, using other computers. -

what are the chances for other classic Z80 arcade games that either were not converted or converted badly to the Spectrum? (Mr DO! Donkey Kong etc).
