It's the Ram disc yes, I remember my (grey) +2 had this too.
There's something in the manual I think (like a screen$ load / save 'demo') which explains it. -

I have a spare +128 PSU - otherwise you can use a grey +2 PSU - it supplies more power than is needed, so is fine for the +128 machine (I have those in stock too!)
