I don't think a fixer board is needed. On the homepage it says the DivIDE is compatible with the +3 and just looking at the PCB it looks like they have made it auto detect the host computer type. -

No, it is because you can use an external tape deck to record.
If you use the internal PCB connection as sugessted, be careful because if you put (rather than take) a signal on the output line, you could fry the ULA. -
