I use raw images (no format). Using Linux or mac is very easy to create a raw image from a physical device.
You can also create images from the emulator menu
Hdf is not supported -

how did you formatted hdf? did you specified --fat32 ? it seems it create FAT16 without it (but that may depend on size of image) -

Yes, I know, I use hdfmonkey to create image, but yet want to try with hdf created in Spin.
Of course correct +3e ROMS are selected. With divIDE no issues in Fuse. I will do few more tests and provide details. -
