I see nothing in Vista which I need, and certainly nothing that justifies a pretty hefty PC upgrade. From where I'm sitting, it looks to be aimed at corporates with more money than sense and think that the upgrade cycle is compulsory. -

Me too - I would go for the CF option, have a bag of 64MB Cisco CF modules under my desk at work - the routers seem to always come with a 64MB and a 256MB upgrade.

It's very possible to connect the PC and Spectrum/IF1 together and share files. For the PC to control the whole thing is again, possible - you just make the Spectrum a "slave" terminal.
