They have advantage, but only a slight - no ambiguous filename and length, and no checksum (which is useless even in TAP - I can't imagine anyone wishing to store badly loaded data - tho' from the "preservation" point of view I'm able to live with it :)). -

guesser: any parsing error (i.e. the absence of .zx3) falls back to a mode when the filename is just truncated to 10 characters and the file is used as a code block. Easy. -
