  • Question on 8-bit, 16-bit, 32-bit...Hello, Sorry, this is probably a really dumb question(and something I should know by now :)). I tried doing some searches about this but came up only…

    Not again...
I worked out a 128-bit register is something like:
    ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOP
    16 Letters! Perhaps.
But what i want to know is this: Are 16-bit registers' values connected with 8-bit registers' values?

Your question has no answer without context and your register name assumtions assume a register system based on 8 byte registers being combined - which is not the case for many processors.

I've just been doing more research.
A 128-bit Register is like ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOP (I think). I've also found out that Machine code is faster, easier to write and more powerful than most High-level languages (Look C++).
