Like XZX amongst others, Spectaculator will write a 55th byte to the header when in +3 mode (to save the last value written to port $1ffd).
That's the only thing that springs to mind.

I'll make a note of all these games and see what I can do. I don't like writing lots of Flashloading code for a specific title (it's alot of effort for not much reward), only for schemes used by multiple titles.

Try "File->Open"ing the .pok file to see if it works okay.

8 means the poke is for 48k machines, 0-7 should be the page number for 128k games.
I need to read Martijn's specs again to be sure, but I expect Spectaculator will only open 128k .pok files in Spectrum 128 mode.
