Why not emulate the light gun using the mouse instead as it's done in MAME for games like Operation Wolf? It may not be ideal but at least you could use software that required a gun (or a lightpen too, I suppose.) -

Espectrum has support for both Sinclair and Cheetah light guns, and quite well it works too. Check it with the light gun game packs available from WoS or the TZX Vault. -
