X200 makes a audio carrier frequency for the PAL UHF signal. Its 5.5MHz in some countries. That would not affect sound on the jack socket. Is there any visibly damaged components? Look at all the capacitors in the top left area. -

You need a lead (obviously).
The back of the +3 manual has the appropriate connection schematics for a 3.5mm jack plug - talk to an electrician if you cannot do your own wiring. -

It is stereo - obviously the ear and mic are connected to the same jack - that would be stereo. I was thinking of the actual sound output being mono. -

You need a stereo jack 2-to-1 plug. Plug the speccy 48 leads into the 2-side and the 1-side into the +3. It doesn't work without this. -

It would have to have two mono sockets to one stereo plug. Two stereo sockets with a mono plug inserted will damage the spectrum. I would recommend getting a stereo plug to two phono plugs cable and a couple of phono socket/mono jack plug adapters. -
