There are a few utilities that manually implement long filename support.
Taper isn't one of them though and is unlikely to ever be. -

Looks like it should work to me. Just follow the steps it's not too difficult to do I did it with my divMMC Enjoy mini. There's no long filename in esxdos (at least for the moment). If you have Dr Slump's new NMI browser, the controls can be redefined. -
