In my Spectrum Plus I used to use QAOP + SP + N or M as the 6th key.
If required, for pause & end I chose any key on the upper line of the keyboard: 5 or 6. -

In my issue 2 48k speccy new membrane does not work reliably unless I add a piece of paper between the rf modulator "box" and the membrane "cable". With a folded piece of paper it works 100% perfectly and reliably. -
