I think Macc means the Z80 itself. Some of them apparently have a weak M1 signal which causes problems with some hardware (DivIDE for example) -

Still I have the feeling M1 problems occur more often these days.
So even when it was working in the first place.
I can't find a good reason for that other than load on it. -

Well if my issue 2 had a faulty m1 line I have here a NEC D780C Z80 which is fully working.
