If you for any reason, perhaps to keep it as original as possible, want to stick with old (eighties) cpus, i'd go for the NEC D780C-1 NMOS cpu. In my experience, these rarely have broken M1 lines. -

Many thanks the schematic :-). I did solve this problem by swapping the Z80 as the original one was missing the M1 line and this is needed by the Divmmc reader. All is working now! -
