    I think as long as the sprites are masked with an outline around them (which they will be) than they should look pretty good against the backgrounds. Of course they will take on the colour of the background.

    Alternatively, the TZX file is broken and this is being masked by a bug in RealSpectrum. Personally, this seems more likely to me.
