    in my BASIC games i had variables for all numbers up to 20 and then for more frequent ones over that ie 32. i seem to recall it saving a lot of memory and maybe it was quicker.

    I may be wrong but I kinda remember a listing in an old computer magazine (maybe Sinclair programs) that would load ZX81 BASIC programs on a Speccy.
