I see the +2 socket has a brightness signal and no voltage signal. Maybe you should make a composite video cable. There is instructions in the comp.sys.sinclair faq pinouts page.

The 48k does have seperate EAR and MIC ports, and the 48k leads are mono. Crash had a very extensive section about hardware. I suppose if you were into music and MIDI in those days Crash was absolutely the mag to buy.
And there was no other mag that could compete with the Oli Frey artwork on the cover each month.
