    Essentially you can reveal the screen from BASIC in any way you want - simply load the screen as code into RAM, and then use PEEK & POKE to move the loaded data into the actual screen buffer in any order you wish.

    As far as I'm aware there is no way to change the colour of the loading stripes from BASIC. To do so you would have to write your own custom loading routine in machine code.
