If I take the signal off this will I have to disable the modulator(And lose standard RF output)? Or can I leave both running side by side?

Keith is right. You would lose output from a +2/+3 however, though I opened the thing up, and COULD NOT SEE any audio line entering the modulator... Weird. -

Too right - the black +2A (and +2B) suffers the same incompatability as the +3, whereas the grey +2 is identical to the original 128 speccy. I had to replace the modulator on mine, you could always use the video out instead though.
